Our Story

 

Notre Dame Subway Alumni

It started in 1913 when ND hopped aboard a train and went to New York to face the national power that was Army.  The Irish upset Army and grabbed the attention of the nation.  ND continued to travel to New York and many other cities to play only the best teams.  Every city they traveled to fans would ride the subway to watch the little school from the Midwest.  These fans were labeled the Subway Alumni and the title has stuck to this day for all the Irish fans that did not graduate from the University.

 

My Story

My whole life everyone has always asked me why I am a ND fan if I didn’t go there.  Like many Irish fans my father was a passionate Irish fan as was his father.  It is more than just a University.  It is more than a football team.  You understand what I am talking about if you are one of many Irish fans that have been labeled a Subway Alumni.  That is why I wanted to create something that all ND Subway Alumni and ND fans could be proud to wear.  This is why we created the ND Subway Alumni.
